Multiboard Construction at UK Construction Week 2024

How Marmox Multiboard was the ideal construction material for our exhibition stand at UK Construction Week!
At Marmox, we believe in the power of demonstrating the strength and versatility of our products in real-world scenarios. That’s why, at UK Construction Week 2024, we built our entire exhibition stand using our very own Marmox Multiboard. Not only did this decision allow us to showcase the durability and flexibility of Multiboard, but it also set us apart from traditional stands, which are often made from flimsy shell schemes or heavy, cumbersome materials like wood.
The Construction of the Stand
We used long Marmox Multiboards (2500mm x 600mm x 50mm) as the foundation of the entire structure. These construction boards formed a durable, yet lightweight, solution that made both assembly and dismantling an easy task.
At the heart of our stand was a central storage area, measuring 3m x 1m and standing 2.5m high. This area was key to keeping our stand organised and functional throughout the show. The storage area was topped off with the addition of a gable roof (also built entirely out of Marmox Multiboard) providing a cohesive design element while showcasing the board’s versatility in a variety of shapes and applications.
Around the storage area, we constructed four separate walls, each extending 2.4m in length and standing 2.5m high. These walls formed the backbone of the stand and were reinforced with returns on each end, measuring 0.6m x 2.5m. This added structural integrity while ensuring the stand had four distinct product areas - Marmox Thermoblocks, Marmox Fireboard, Marmox Multiboard and Marmox Wetroom Floor Systems.
All of the Marmox Multiboards were securely slotted together using metal trunking, which provided extra support while keeping the design sleek and simple. The assembly method was quick and efficient, with no need for heavy tools or equipment, making both the construction and deconstruction processes straightforward.
A Showcase of Marmox Multiboard Versatility
By using Marmox Multiboard to build our stand, we not only created a functional, professional display space but also highlighted the unique features of the product itself:
- Lightweight yet incredibly strong: The 50mm-thick boards were sturdy enough to support all our product displays, TV's and posters, while being easy to transport and set up.
- Ease of assembly and dismantling: Thanks to the lightweight nature of Multiboard and the Galvanised Steel trunking assembly system, our stand came together quickly and could be taken down just as easily – no heavy lifting required.
- Versatile design: Whether as walls, a roof, or even a storage area, Marmox Multiboard proved its versatility. Its adaptability to various design needs made it the perfect choice for a stand that not only looked great but also functioned perfectly throughout the 3 day exhibition.
We then went on to make 2 counter desks, a Thermoblock stand, to hold all of the different sized Thermoblocks, and 2 literature stands and a triangular display for Marmox Brick Slip Panels - All out of Marmox Multiboard.
By building our stand out of Marmox Multiboard, we showcased just how adaptable and reliable this product can be in real-world construction projects. It was the perfect base to display the rest of our product line, proving that Marmox Multiboard is more than just a board – it’s a game-changer for modern construction.
